Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work with an SEN hub in a mainstream Primary school in the Rowley Regis area. The teaching assistant would be supporting a range of pupils with additional needs. The role will predominately involve working in a Specialist SEN Hub, with a small number of children (4 - 6 pupils) with SEN needs. Some pupils have severe autism, ADHD, non-verbal and other needs including assisting with feeding and toilet changing. Therefore, previous experience working within a SEN hub/working with SEND pupils would be essential.

The role is a full-time, long-term position – starting in January 2024 and continuing on an ongoing basis. Due to the complex needs of the students, commitment to a long-term role that will provide stability and continuity is pivotal.

To apply for this Teaching assistant role you will need the following:

• A relevant teaching assistant qualification (minimum Level 3).
• Previous experience working with SEN needs
• Knowledge of SEND needs
• Good communication, working effectively as part of a team.
• DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 excellent references required.
• To be able to work 8.30 to 3.30, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities for the Teaching assistant role:

• To support pupils in their learning during daily lessons/tasks.
• To collaborate with colleagues and follow the directions of the class teacher.
• Build effective relationships with pupils and staff.
• Implement and monitor towards targets.
• Attend meetings in relation to the pupil
• To follow the school behaviour policy and code of conduct.
• To attend meetings and CPD training that is relevant to the role.

The role is based in the Rowley Regis area and would be easily accessed via public transport from surrounding locations, such as: Cradley Heath, Black Heath, Old Hill and Oldbury. For those commuting by car, the school has on-site parking facilities and is easily reached from Dudley, Stourbridge, Smethwick, Halesowen and Quinton.
