Flourish Education are working with a mainstream primary school in West BromwichHand, to recruit exclusively for a SEN Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to support a child within a year 3 setting with Downs Syndrome. Experience with Downs Syndrome is preferred but not essential as the school have offered training for the right candidate, experience with SEN is a requirement for the role.

This Teaching assistant role is to support a child with Downs Syndrome within a Year 3 setting

The role is required to start September

To apply to this Teaching Assistant role you will need the following

• Relevant Level 2 Teaching assistant qualification or above
• At least 1 year of experience within Primary Schools
• Experience of working with children with Special Needs
• Experience of working on a 1:1 basis
• A good reference from your most recent school
• Good behaviour management

Responsibilities

• To support a SEN child within the classroom setting
• Support the class Teacher within Year 3
• To effectively manage the behaviour and routines of the child
• Encourage child’s development and improve their access to the curriculum
